Tunes and Vibes
Last night I went through my CD collection. It started out as a "hey Esso, I'm going to burn you a cd of quintessential Erinian tunes" and turned into a "ooh, that one's cool... so's that one...." and resulted in a three disc "Summary" set, that will be sorted through before any cds change hands.
I'd forgotten how many great tunes I have! I spent so much time feeling sad over all of the stuff that I had to get rid of when I moved that I never really looked over all the great stuff I kept (and have acquired since I got here).
It occurs to me that I am becoming (as if I wasn't already) a Tune Ho.
I will say though, that I am becoming much more specific in my Tune Ho-age. Before the move I had access to promotional cds and managed to acquire a very eclectic music collection. I miss it greatly but I have realized that as I am much more picky now that I have to pay for all of the tunes I add to my collection that my music library is becoming a much more accurate representation of who I am. And as I learn more about who I am, I realize that there are some genres in which my music library is sorely lacking. Viva la Napster and iTunes!
Isn't self discovery fun?
On a heavier note: The death toll for the tsunami in Indonesia keeps climbing. The last I checked it was around 120,000. My heart breaks for all of the families over there who have lost so much. I wasn't going to write about this, because everybody else is and I thought it might be overkill, but it really is a horrendous tragedy. There are donation sites all over the internet for people who want to pledge a few bucks to go for relief aid. I hope everybody who reads my blog will go visit one and donate a few dollars. I also hope that everybody who stops in here will remember to include all of the victims' families in their thoughts and prayers. Send some mental hugs, people! It only takes a few seconds and it's free and if everybody does it then they will be felt. Vibes carry. Trust me.
