Picking up where I left off

The world is slowly going back to normal. The holiday shopping has stopped and the returns and exchanges are slowing down. The mall is relatively quiet as people slow down from their frantic rushing to their more predictable meandering. It's nice. The last three days have been calm and quiet as my coworkers and I have found projects to keep us busy and let us work in companionable silence. We're regathering our wits and remembering that we really do like each other, we only got on each others' nerves because, well.... chaos can bond or break people. In our case it bonded us by trying to break us--as it is with every holiday season in retail. Tomorrow I return to a mission I set upon before the holiday wackiness took over my life: To find jeans that fit. They will be mine. Oh yes, they will be mine.
