I am a tune Ho.
Oh dudes.
On Tuesday night, while waiting for Esso to be off of work I want on the first pant-finding-expedition of 2005. While I tried on a great deal of denim and corduroy and khaki I mulled over the possible reasons as to why dressing rooms are air-condition-less. "Perhaps if people sweat a bit, the sweat helps them pull up pants that would ordinarily be too small to slide over their rears" I thought. I also exhalted in the fact that I am NOT a size zero, in spite of what everybody thinks. This discovery made me immensely happy because, as they keep making smaller sizes for larger numbers, it will be a while before my size is in the negative numbers. I too often hear "Girl you need to EAT SOMETHING, what are you a size zero??" (can I help it that I have a faster metabolism than a mouse on crack? I eat all freaking day long!!)
Alas, the Tuesday trek for pantage was to no avail. I did however find a bunch of other stuff I needed on sale (shampoo, conditioner, face wash) and that made me happy. As I was still sans new pants, and a bit sad about it, I did what any girl would do to cheer herself up: I bought tunes. I bought a Me First and the Gimme Gimme's cd (their latest one) and Nick Drake's Pink Moon (which for all of you mellow tunes fans, it is a must buy).
Yesterday, again while waiting for Esso to get off work, I went on the Great Pant Expedition of 2005..... part 2. And guess what: I found pants. Not only did I find pants, but I found two pairs of pants. Not just that, but both of these pairs of pants fit (more or less). But that's not all, folks! These two pairs of pants that I found, both of which fit me, were on sale. And it turned out to be one of those days where everything is being sold at an additional secret discount that they don't tell you about until you get to the registers. Long paragraph short: Two pairs of pants that would have normally run me almost $80 ended up costing me $20. Say it with me now: Woohoo!
Of course, as I was in a celebratory mood, I did what any girl who had just found pants that fit her that happened to be on sale would do: I bought tunes.
I scoured the mall music store's $4.99 rack and found three cds that I thought could be cool and then decided to treat myself to the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack (I've had it on cassette forever, but never on cd yet). When I got to the register it turned out that my $4.99 cds were on sale for $1.99 and it was buy three get three free. Free tunes?? Who can pass that up?
Well, I tried, because I already felt I had bought enough already, but as the sales clerk so smartly pointed out: they are free, I wouldn't be spending any more money.
And that is how I ended up with seven new cds yesterday.
I am such a happy little tune ho.
