The boring updates
Last night we saw In Good Company. The movie was all right. Topher Grace was fantastic, as always, and Dennis Quaid wasn't too shabby either. I liked that the ending was completely predictable. Other than that, the movie was pretty much, just.... okay. Scarlett Johansen (spelling possibly wrong, but you all know who I'm talking about) acted too much, and the guy playing Kenny G or Tommy K or whatever his character's name was--he played the bad guy in one of the Star Trek movies, so even though I'm not sure it's the same guy, when he came on the screen I couldn't help but go "KAHHHHHHHN" to myself and have a bit of a giggle.
My favorite part of the movie, by far, was the soundtrack. People this soundtrack is AWESOME. I came home and downloaded the whole thing off of iTunes. It took FOREVER, but it was worth it. So, if you're looking for a non-thinky way to spend your afternoon and don't mind some flat yet somehow overly done acting go ahead and check it out.... but definitely definitely check out the soundtrack.
In other news, the trip to the coast was good. There are very few places on this planet that I feel completely at ease and that is one of them. The town never really changes that much, and while I know that "change is good," it is comforting to know that there will always be somewhere that I can go that is completely familiar. The weather even cleared up enough that we went to the beach. I took many many pictures and will post some of them on the photo blog as soon as I get Hello back up and running.
The only bad part of the trip was the leaving part. I know I don't live there anymore and where I live now does feel very homey, but it is always hard to leave that town. I put on a happy face and do my best to not get sad, but a little part of me always wants to throw itself down on the ground and have a proper tantrum when it's time to leave. It's funny, when I lived there I couldn't wait to get out. Now that I'm out, I go back every chance I get.
