Tonight we closed the store early because of SNOW!! There was a snow shower (it wasn't really a storm) that started just south of our county and slowly moved it's way north. By the time it got to the mall it was only snow while it was up in the air. Once it hit about seven feet from the ground it turned to rain, but by then most of the stores in the mall had closed and Mall Security gave the go-ahead to close early. So of course I closed the store early! You would think, if you did not already know that I am a nerd, that closing early would mean closing down the cash drawers and safe and then jumping out of there like a bat out o' nothin. However, if you did not already know that I am a nerd, here is your confirmation: I actually only ended up leaving about 45 minutes early. I stayed after I had everything counted and reconciled to finish a couple of projects and then I went home. Yeah. That old work ethic bites me in the butt sometimes. On the way home it started slushing. Gobs of not quite snow, but too solid to be rain fell from the sky and smacked into our car. It was actually kind of cool to watch while we drove home. It looked kind of like we were driving right into that "travelling through space" Windows screen saver (or whatever the actual name is). The snow shower did not ever reach my town. The closest we got was slush, but that's okay by me. I like rain and slush and sleet and even hail if it doesn't hurt too much when it bonks me on the head. Inclement Weather is my friend.
