A few weeks ago, as we were driving home from a movie, my Mom looked out our car window and exclaimed "Look at the Moon!!!" I looked and found a huge orange harvest moon hanging low over the hills. Harvest moons are my absolute favorite. I love it when they first rise and the moon is so huge it looks as if you could hold it in two hands. This was one of those moons. Of course, by the time we got home it had risen a great deal and had lost that magic hugeness. When I took this picture, I was about a block down the street from where we live, standing at the edge of a field that is the near by church's "backyard". It was freezing out and I couldn't hold my hand steady. I was shivering so badly my bones were rattling. It is an absolute miracle this came out as well as it did. I had actually forgotten about these pictures until tonight when I was transferring the pictures I took of our Christmas tree. Along with this and many incredibly blurry shots of the moon, there are also some fantastic pictures of the sunset we had on Thanksgiving. I will post those over on the picture blog. I had to put this one of the moon up on the main page, though, because....Dang. It rocks.
