Today's fun conversation with the Sam Goody Guy.
Hurrah! Today I found "Life in a Northern Town" on CD for less than five dollars. Rock on!
I found it while skimming through some bargain stuff at Sam Goody's. I was so excited to find it, I bought it on the spot.
"You look happy," my Sam Goody friend (I have NO idea what his name is) said.
"I am! I've been looking for one of the songs on this CD for over a week now, and now you have it for, like, nothing. It's a good day."
"What song is stuck up there now?" he asked, referring to my brain.
"Life in a Northern Town," I said.
"Oh!! I love that song. Who sings it?" he asked, turning the cd case over. "Dream Academy" he said, sounding like he was trying to choke back a chuckle.
"Yup. One hit wonder." I joked.
"No kidding," Sam Goody guy said, laughing. "Wait a minute. Weren't you just in here last week buying the new Eminem?"
"Of course," I replied.
"So, you went from Eminem to.... Dream Academy?"
"What's your point?"
"What's next?" he asked, putting the CD in the bag.
I thought for a minute then, grinning, said "I'm still deciding between Veggie Tales and Led Zepplin. Bye!" and skipped out the door, leaving the guy standing there, looking a bit dumbfounded.
Okay, I didn't really skip, but wouldn't it have been a perfect way to punctuate the ending to our conversation?
One song down, one to go!
