No Fiddler here...

Today I was teasing one of my coworkers about her almost attempts at matchmaking and she managed to both give me hope and then smack it back down all in just a few sentences. Sentence One: "That's really true you know, about it happening when you least expect it." Sentence Two: "I met John and ten days later we got married." Sentence Three: "It was a really dumb thing to do." Give me hope, build the hope up and then.... Bam! The Smackdown! Incidentally she and John are still married. Not all is lost, but what a turn of phrase!
