Freaky Friday

Usually it is me waiting for the rest of the world to catch up. I don't mean to sound snobby, it's just that I know I have a crazy amount of energy. It isn't always apparent to the naked eye (especially on those days when all I do is lay on the couch and watch movies) but trust me, my brain is always going. Except today. Today I woke up feeling perfectly content to spend the whole day inside my own brain. I woke up feeling quiet and peaceful. So, of course, the rest of the world exploded. The local high school had a parade for homecoming, of which my bus became an accidental participant. Our freight showed up at 1:45pm instead of 9:45 am. We got a bazillion boxes and my boss and co-supervisor were tortured by a play a song book that was packed in a box somewhere in the middle of the gigundo pile of boxes and the book kept playing for over five hours. One of my coworkers was late for her shift, and another was late leaving. The girl I was closing with forgot how to shut down her register. I couldn't find half of the paperwork that I needed to file, which means it is buried on shelves behind the gigundo freight tower. I left a half an hour later than I should have. But all is okay because it wasn't ME that was tortured by the play a song book. :) (That sentiment is bad for my karma, but really it was pretty funny)
