How Come the Only Time I Can Dance is When I'm Sitting In A Chair?
Okay, I swore to myself last night that I wasn't going to do this, that it was a cop-out, but I have to post these, as it is what I am currently grooving to, and it is one of my favorite musical collaborations Ever. Many thanks to lyricsfreak.com for making this available!
Fame--David Bowie/John Lennon
Fame, (fame) makes a man take things over Fame, (fame) lets him loose, hard to swallow Fame, (fame) puts you there where things are hollow Fame (fame)
Fame, it’s not your brain, it’s just the flame That burns your change to keep you insane (sane) Fame (fame)
Fame, (fame) what you like is in the limo Fame, (fame) what you get is no tomorrow Fame, (fame) what you need you have to borrow Fame (fame)
Fame, nien! it’s mine! is just his line To bind your time, it drives you to, crime Fame (fame)
Could it be the best, could it be? Really be, really, babe? Could it be, my babe, could it, babe? Could it, babe? , could it, babe?
Is it any wonder I reject you first? Fame, fame, fame, fame Is it any wonder you are too cool to fool Fame (fame)
Fame, bully for you, chilly for me Got to get a rain check on pain (pain) (fame)
Fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame ,fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame, fame Fame What’s your name?
Feeling so gay, feeling gay
I first heard this song when I was about eight. I was watching VH-1 and fell in love with the video, which looks a little bit like the Disco/Glam Rock version of that old game show Press Your Luck. I used to watch it every time it came on and pick a different square to watch. Then it was aired on a Tribute to John Lennon, a special Disney aired in 1990 (I think, pretty close to that anyway) that one of my friends taped for me, so I now have the video readily available whenever I want to watch it. It was also on the Best of Bowie CD that I've had in my stereo for the last twenty four hours (last night I had Under Pressure on repeat for, like, two hours). If you've never heard this song, check it out. It's up there in the Erin's top 25 songs of all time! (Oooh Note to self: What a great post idea!)
