Changes
I was needing a change of scene and rather than drag everybody through the tedious process of finding some new blog server and not wanting to leave Typepad, I changed my layout. It's kind of like knowing you won't be getting a new house so you move the furniture around. Maybe this will help a smidge with my blogging apathy. Normally I am addicted to my blog, but lately that stupid voice of self doubt has been winning. You all know the drill: You write stuff, you read what you wrote, a nagging tiny voice tells you that what you wrote is stupid so you erase your writings and go on surfing the web.
Bah Stupid Inner Voice of Self Doubt! I shake my fist at you!
In other news: I went with my Mom and her boyfriend to see Spiderman 2 today. What a great (though lengthy) flick. Is it not super cool when that CGI superhero just goes swinging through the buildings? Man, if I could only shoot webs from my wrists. I would have SO much fun. I believe this as firmly as I believe that should I ever be given the good fortune to actually find a way to get my liscence, that I will constantly have to fight the urge to do stunt driving on the freeway. Don't let the innocent happy go lucky exterior fool you folks. I have an inner daredevil. Oh yes I do.
We also rented Scooby Doo. It was cute but I think I got stupider from watching it. Oh well... maybe it'll free up some room in my brain for new knowledge.
OH!!
And I finally FINALLY managed to buy Dancing Barefoot and Just a Geek! Right now both books are resting, still in their shopping bag, on my dresser. I won't read them until I get my room all settled and unpacked and arranged. It's coming along quite nicely now because I finally got bookshelves today, so I could unpack my 8 crates of books. Yes, 8 and I even have some room left over, which is good because I seriously doubt my book buying days are anywhere near to being over. I work in a bookstore people! I get a discount. I love my discount!
So...yeah, my books are unpacked, my clothes are finally hung up/put away. I just have to find places for all of those random things now--like my blackberry candle, the coffee mugs I collected over the past few years, the two boxes full of VHS (actually I know where those are going to go)....you get the idea. I need to do this quickly because I am SO JAZZED to read Wil's books and I refuse to do so until I won't have any nagging procrastinatorial thoughts in my head. As soon as everything is arranged and put away ("a place for everything and everything in it's place" to quote my Mom) I am going to take to my bed with a big ol' bottle of Pepsi, a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos, my stuffed animals and Wil's books. I am going to curl up in my bed--truly the comfiest place to read--and read read read. It will be smashing. I can't wait!
My reading material in the meantime is David Sedaris' new book. It's fabulous. You should all go get a copy.
Ooh! And check out Bruce Campbell's website. The sitemaster does a kick butt job of putting all of the info together.
