First Day

So today was my first day at the new store. It went pretty well I thought. My new manager really knows books and is fun to be around, which is good 'cause it was just him and me this morning. He's also really laid back. He doesn't care if we're eating at the registers or if we have a soda out, just as long as we are still making sure we talk to our customers and help them the best we can (and offer them part of our cookie if we can't swallow our bite fast enough). It is a very different environment from what I'm used to. It's small and everybody knows everybody already, but all of the regular customers seemed to like me okay so that's a plus. I also got to sample the bus system for the first time and I have made a major decision: No reading will be done while riding on the bus so as to prevent barf. The bus is pretty bouncy and the drivers today were a little....uh....bad, but it's a nice ride to work. It's nice to be driven through hills and woods instead of through urbania.
