Growned Upness
I think I have it figured out.....that thing that shows you you're on your way to adulthood. It's when you actually do the thing you HAVE to do instead of the thing you WANT to do and you do so without (much) of a fuss or (much) whining. Example: What I WANT to do is go back and read Wil Wheaton's blog from the very very beginning. He wrote an incredibly touching story about an experience with his (step)sons and you can read it HYPERLINK "http://www.wilwheaton.net" \o "symphony in c" \t "_blank" here . I've been a regular visitor to the blog for a while now and have loved everything I've read (this guy is the best writer I have read in a Long Time) but this entry in particular sparked that "ooooooh now I want to read EVERYTHING on this site right now" thing that is very very hard to fight. What I HAVE to do, is go to bed and get some sleep so I can get up in the morning and go to work. I love my job. I love my desk. I love my office. However the need for enough sleep is not as much fun as staying up and reading Wil's blog is. So off I go to sleep. Sadly, but determinedly off to do that Most Adult thing of all: Rest. Willingly.
